  it is my absolutely firm belief that he is the greatest living american writer. and anyone who disagrees simply hasn’t read his books. it’s the only explanation. (beach music is, by far, my absolutely favorite.)

  Love this. Pat Conroy is my favorite author – so much so that I have read all of his works multiple times. I found “Beach Music” when I was 16 right after my great-grandmother died while we were sitting in her living room. My grandmother let me take the book, and I have read it more times than I can count
