Have you ever ventured through a corn maze? I've always wanted to but can never find anyone to join me!

On the Rocks: Fallen Apple.

During fall there's nothing better than curling up around a bonfire with lots friends and lots blankets. Except maybe lots of Fallen Apple cocktails to accompany them both!

Fallen Apple
- ice
- 2 oz apple vodka
- 1 oz Southern Comfort
- apple juice
- green apple slices
- cinnamon sticks

Fill two tall glasses with ice. Add 1 oz apple vodka and ½ oz Southern Comfort to each glass. Top with apple juice. Garnish with green apple slices and a cinnamon stick. Serves 2.

The Daily Eat: Pan Seared Eggplant with Ginger + Honey.

I've never thought of pairing eggplant with something sweet, but that's exactly what happens in this recipe for Pan Seared Eggplant with Ginger and Honey. It looks ridiculously simple and impressive at the same time.

Heidi Burton Halloween Postcards.

I found these awesome off-the-wall Halloween postcards by Heidi Burton a few weeks ago and have been dying to share. They embody exactly what October 31st is all about: embracing your quirkiness and bringing out your inner wild child! Her shop is closed until October 8th, but be sure and stop by to check everything out once she returns.

Pretty sure this is the intensity with which I was eating my cupcake at Sara Sara this afternoon. (The Key Lime for those of you wondering.) What food could delve into with this sort of abandon?

Word: marta writes.

flipflops were on sale,
so we both bought a pair

we glide high
above the trees
in the breeze,
my best friend n' me.
we swing our legs
and make our plans
just like we always do.
there is no one
i'd rather sit with,
shop with, text with,
sing with, dance with,
drive with, eat with,
laugh with, be with.
just my best friend n' me.

This week's Word is right outta the mind of the fabulous Marta. You can read more of her beautiful words and coo over her adorable son, Benji at her blog, marta writes. Thanks so much for your contribution to Word, Marta! You captured it just so.

Illustrator Crush: David Fullarton.

Illustrator David Fullarton laughs at our misfortunes. And then turns around and makes a profit off of them with his quirky, collaged illustrations. And I like him for it. If you do, too, you should probably pick up a copy of his book, I Can't Apologise Enough.

If I had super-toned thighs I'd be all about this tattoo! But I suppose the ones that I've got will have to suffice for now. Do you have a tattoo? If not, what kind do you want if you want one?

Win It: PaPaYa.

I first learned of PaPaYa a few years ago and have been impressed by their wide array of unique art and paper goods ever since. Founded by mother-daughter team Gina and Anahata Katkin in 2003, the company is centered around global culture, strong images and bright colors. Creative abandon is their company credo and I can't think of anything better to live by.

PaPaYa launched a blog in August that's full of daily inspiration from a group of talented contributors. It also boasts a large selection of resources to link to your heart's content!

This week's giveaway is the beautifully abstract Make Believe giclee (pronounced "gee-clay") by artist Sabrina Ward Harrison. Giclee canvas prints are brimming over with vibrant colors and a richer feel than traditional art prints. Make Believe measures 14" x 28" and is mounted on sturdy panels, so comes ready to hang.

To Enter:
1. Tell me what you dreamed of becoming when you grew up
2. Leave your email address (those who do not will sadly be disqualified)
3. Do it all before Monday, October 5th at 9am CST

The Daily Eat: Rustic Eggplant Grilled Pizza.

My grill is crappy. It's of the camping variety, those that sit low and are small. I've been wanting to try grilling pizza all summer, but have lacked the patience. But now that things are cooling down and football season is kicking up, I think that this Rustic Eggplant Grilled Pizza just might be whispering sweet nothings in my ear. Hearty, delicious and perfectly fall.

Win It: Rachel Pfeffer Designs Winner.

Congratulations Marie-Eve!

Thanks so much to all of you who entered, I absolutely loved reading all of the ways you enjoy eating honey and can't wait to try many of them myself! My favorite? It's a toss-up between stirring it into hot tea with lots of lemon and putting gobs of it on peanut butter and honey sandwiches. I'd also like to send out a big thank you to Rachel for putting this much sought after necklace up for grabs!

Did you have a fabulous weekend? I spent my time reading and watching college football. Having a little quality time with my mom. And of course entertaining my animal menagerie. A nice, low-key weekend.

Happy Weekend.

{Unknown}

Have you been having an amazing first week of fall? I have. Here in Oklahoma we're experiencing a lot of below average temperatures and I'm soaking up every moment! Not only did I break out the Halloween decorations (fine, that was last week), but some long sleeves, too. Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy this week's Mad Props!

Timex for J.Crew.

So glad to see two classics – Timex and J.Crew – teamed up this fall. One of these watches is definitely on my fall wish list. The question is, which one? Maybe I don't have to choose... the bands can switch out! {via A Little Sussy}

Room Swoon: Classic With a Twist.

This is actually more of a House Swoon. I love the classic structure of this Charleston, South Carolina home that has a few unexpected elements thrown in. Like the double staircase to the front door and the slim windows flanking it on three sides. I adore black shutters on a white home and all of those lovely trees and surrounding greenery only help to enhance the entire structure. But my very favorite part? The hanging porch lamp to be sure.

The Daily Eat: Indian "Espresso" Coffee.

This recipe for Indian "Espresso" Coffee looks a-maz-ing! There's actually not even a speck of espresso involved, the creamy froth is the result of whipping coffee and sugar together. Is it just me or does this look highly addictive?

Artist Crush: Matthew Sporzynski.

Matthew Sporzynski can do more with a few pieces of paper that I do with, well, anything really. His work is most recognizable from his features in Real Simple magazine – always one of my favorite parts of each issue. Unfortunately, neither he nor his company, Couturier de Cardboard, have an internet presence. So we're left to drool over his work in silence. {via Twig & Thistle}

John Cusack.

On the Rocks: Call a Cab Cappuccino.

I don't normally go for blended frozen drinks, but his one looks deliciously dangerous. Silky smooth and way too easy to drink ten of. But this is no frou-frou cocktail, there are six - count 'em six - kinds of liquor in a Call a Cab Cappuccino.

Call a Cab Cappuccino
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Espresso - Chilled
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Godiva Chocolate Liquor
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Godiva White Chocolate Liquor
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Godiva Caramel Milk Chocolate Liquor
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Kahlua
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Frangelico
- 1 1/2 oz shot of Vodka
- 4 scoops of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
- dark chocolate to garnish - optional
- piro to garnish - optional

In a blender, add your ice cream & then add in all of the remaining ingredients. Pulse until well blended. Serve immediately. Chill any remaining drink.
