Illustrator Crush: Mary Blair.

My favorite movie is Cinderella. No, not my favorite Disney movie or even my favorite children's movie. Just my favorite movie period. So when I saw these concept drawings of Mary Blair's I about flipped my lid. They're stunning. I'd give my left arm to own one, but it turns out some are available for around $1,300.

Bodum Bistro Toaster.

Bodum's new Bistro toaster is serious. It has adjustable slots and a built-in warming rack along with all the usuals we expect. I'd buy it just to be pretty counter candy though, the design is a spot on mix of retro and modern. I'll take the white one, please!

I met Linnzi during the first part of my sophomore year of college. She was the girlfriend of the roommate of the guy I liked. We were both looking for a new roommate and after spending some time hanging out at the guys' house and their (awful) band practices we decided to move in together. We instantly became best friends and I realized I had found a true kindred spirit in her. Since those days of roommate-y bliss we've had our ups and downs for sure, but always bounce back. Now she lives in North Carolina with her amazing husband (the same guy!) and adorable, smart-as-a-whip son. And I just found out last month that she's expecting again! Although we don't get to talk nearly as much as I'm sure either of us would like, when we do things just snap right back into place. And to me, well, that's just what a best friendship is.

On the Rocks: Martini 1812.

Are you a martini drinker? If so, the Martini 1812 could potentially be your soul-cocktail.

Martini 1812
- 3 parts gin
- 1 part Carpano Antica vermouth
- 1 teaspoon maraschino liqueur
- Dash orange bitters
- Preserved amarena cherry for garnish

Fill cocktail mixer half full of ice. Add gin, vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and bitters. Stir to combine and chill. Drop cherry into martini glass and strain cocktail into it. Enjoy!

The Daily Eat: Cherry-Hazelnut Bruschetta.

Note to Self: Never look at insanely delicious-looking desserts (like Cherry-Hazelnut Bruschetta) immediately before your sub-par lunch. It will only cause excessive drooling which is highly unattractive.
