Happy Weekend.

I know we just had a three day weekend and all that jazz, but I'm beat. Between the late night NBA Finals and making an attempt to landscape my yard I'm in desperate need of some shut eye! I hope you all have a fabulously relaxing weekend full of wonderful awesomeness!

This Weekend:
• celebrate mom's postponed/belated birthday dinner at Red Prime Steak
• put together patio set (wish me luck!)
• touch-up baseboards and cabinetry around the house
• buy hanging plants for newly installed hooks on porch posts

Happy Weekend!

because I bookmark almost all of the recipes
and I love the clean look of the blog
and that you can create your own cookbook

because she’s an amazing artist
and shows the best tutorials
and is still at university

because she sometimes feels the need to write haikus
or wear fake moles
and super duper funny

The Daily Eat: Apricot Chiffon Pie + Apricot Round Up.

My grandmother is a pro at chiffon pies, which is quite possibly why they're really the only type of pie that I like. Her specialties were peach and strawberry, but I'm thinking this Apricot Chiffon Pie is worth a shot, too!

Fridays are quickly turning into my favorite day for The Daily Eat - I love sharing all these extra recipes with you!

ecojot.

I have more paper goods than I can shake a stick at (do people still say that even?), but I can't stop smiling when I look at ecojot's collection. Their notebooks are my favorite, but they also have a big 'ol selection of agendas, calendars and other things covered in their fun and carefree illustrations! (Psst... don't miss their free eco cards and desktop wallpaper!)

Photographer Crush: Markus Georg.

I can't stop gazing at the work of German photographer Markus Georg. More specifically his die macht der bilder (The Power of Images) series where he takes famous landmarks and replicates them using everyday objects. Can you guess what these are?

I'm crushing on etsy shop Bread of Many and their sweetly illustrated paper goods in a big way! Especially these notecards, invitations and greeting card.

Room Swoon: Beautiful Bunks.

This is the picture of grown-up sleepaway camp. Comfy-cozy looking beds, each tucked away in their own little nook with pretty teal curtains for privacy. Patio doors leading out into what I can only imagine is a deck overlooking a sparkling lake or dewy forest. Yes, I think I'll be quite comfortable here during Rest Hour.

On the Rocks: Apricot Daiquiri.

I'm not normally into your typical girly drinks, but this Apricot Daiquiri intrigues me. I really like that so much of the actual fruit is in there - almost makes this cocktail seem healthy. Yeah, let's take that rationale and run with it... I'm getting my daily fruit by drinking this!

Ingredients:
- 1 part rum
- 1 part juice of a lime
- 1/2 part apricot brandy
- 3 apricots peeled and stoned
- ice

Mix all with ice in a blender.Pour into a chilled glass. Serves 1.

Breakfast Apricot Crisp is the perfect start to a morning - not too boring or sugary sweet and decidedly more like dessert!

Coasters from Albertine Press.

My mind is very much on outdoor entertaining after purchasing a patio set this past weekend. These coasters from Albertine Press would be just the thing to set cold drinks on... although I'd have a tough time covering up the pretty designs with my beer bottle!

The Daily Eat: Apricot Phyllo Napoleons.

After a few weeks of savory it's time to sweeten things up around here! Enjoy Apricot Week.

A new twist on one of my favorite standbys: Apricot Phyllo Napoleons. I never would have thought to combine the fruit and the dessert before. That's why I have other, more creative, food resources!

Win It: Thoroughly Curly.

I'm thrilled to be able to introduce Thoroughly Curly Designs and her adorable calling cards as this week's Win It contest! I think it's always très chic to have a personal card to hand out as opposed to a business card in certain situations. And lucky, lucky you because you can win the set of your choice!

To enter, take a look at Thoroughly Curly's calling card gallery and choose your favorite. In the comments tell me which one rocks your world, why you need people to call you and your email address. You have until Tuesday, June 2 at noon CST to enter the contest.

Good luck and may the force be with you!

The Daily Eat: Tequila Lime Shrimp + Shrimp Roundup.

Tequila Lime Shrimp is one of those dishes that so easy and tastes so good that you'll want to lie about it and say it's a recipe you picked up while summering in Mexico. But we'll both know the truth.

because she’s super sweet
and I dig her style
and her blog crushes

because I’m completely and utterly paper-obsessed
and she rounds the best of the best up into one place
paper inspiration out the wazoo!

because she makes things like chocolate-coconut covered Cheez Its
and pineapple and bacon poundcake
and makes me want to bite my monitor screen
