Happy Weekend.

Friday after work is my absolute favorite time of the week. Hopefully everything has been left at the office and there are two lovely free days staring me right in the face. Usually a sense of anticipation is hanging around wondering what the weekend will hold. I love that feeling.

This Weekend:
• dinner with my mom
• girls' night
• laundry (it's sooo bad)
• frame art for the "gallery wall" in my living room
• catch up on some reading!

Happy Weekend!

The Daily Eat: Bell Pepper, Red Onion and Goat Cheese Pizza.

I have a confession... I'm not a big pizza eater. Maybe I overdid it in college, or maybe my tastes have just changed, but these days it takes a special pie to get me interested. Like this Bell Pepper, Red Onion and Goat Cheese Pizza which makes me want to lick the screen. YUM!

Artist Crush: Simon Evans.

I'm really digging the work of artist Simon Evans. He's currently exhibiting at the James Cohan Gallery in New York (February 20 - April 4, 2009). Evans is an extraordinary artist and I'm especially intrigued by his piece Everything I Have. It really made me take a minute and think about weeding out the unnecessary things in my life.

Ten Dollar Drawings.

Ten Dollar Drawings is a very inventive idea by artist Alicia Carrier. She'll draw the subject of your choosing on a 5 x 7" piece of brown paper bag (or white paper if you prefer) for just ten bucks. And these aren't your typical doodles because Alicia is oozing talent. The entire project is an effort to be in the practice of drawing every day and save up a little money on the side. Off to order mine now!

The Daily Eat: Fig & Goat Cheese Scones.

These mouth-watering Fig and Goat Cheese Scones are deceptively simple when made as drop biscuits. Try experimenting with different types of seasonal fruit in place of the figs.

Coat Hook & Coat Hanger.

Hurrah for super functional design! The duality of Nicola from Bern's Coat Hook & Coat Hanger is genius - it sticks to a conventional towel rail and once flipped over it turns into a coat hook.

I want this print horribly, horribly badly. I've had it bookmarked for a few weeks and every time I come across it again it brings a huge smile to my face!

Simple can be so, so good. Like this soft goat's cheese sandwich with red peppers and balsamic vinegar (which i'm a BIG fan of).

Operation.

I'm mad about this illustration from Anna Melcon Bond! It's only on her flickr stream right now, but hopefully *crosses fingers and makes a squinty face because she's wishing so hard* it will make the transition to print at some point...

The Daily Eat: Phyllo-Wrapped Goat Cheese.

I'm drooling over these Phyllo-Wrapped Goat Cheese appetizers. You can't go wrong bringing together soft and crispy and I think these would be scrumptious served with jam or chutney!
