Win It: PaPaYa.

I first learned of PaPaYa a few years ago and have been impressed by their wide array of unique art and paper goods ever since. Founded by mother-daughter team Gina and Anahata Katkin in 2003, the company is centered around global culture, strong images and bright colors. Creative abandon is their company credo and I can't think of anything better to live by.

PaPaYa launched a blog in August that's full of daily inspiration from a group of talented contributors. It also boasts a large selection of resources to link to your heart's content!

This week's giveaway is the beautifully abstract Make Believe giclee (pronounced "gee-clay") by artist Sabrina Ward Harrison. Giclee canvas prints are brimming over with vibrant colors and a richer feel than traditional art prints. Make Believe measures 14" x 28" and is mounted on sturdy panels, so comes ready to hang.

To Enter:
1. Tell me what you dreamed of becoming when you grew up
2. Leave your email address (those who do not will sadly be disqualified)
3. Do it all before Monday, October 5th at 9am CST

Ahhh...that print is beyond beautiful! I would love to have it hanging on my bedroom wall. :)

When I was little I dreamt of becoming a movie star. I use to write scenes and act them out with my cousin. Ironically, later on he followed his dream and now he's an actor in LA. I, on the other hand, am pursuing teaching. :-) Funny how that worked out.

That print is gorgeous!
What didn’t I dream about being when I grew up?! It usually centered around whatever book my parents were reading to me at the time…pirates, princesses and explorers. I do remember wanting to be a ballerina. I was in ballet when I was little and dreamed about being a ‘toe’ ballerina. I thought they were so beautiful with their costumes and the toe shoes they got to wear. My mom and grandma encouraged that dream by making my sisters and I boxes of costumes…complete with a pink sparkly tutu. I eventually quit ballet, but I still every once in awhile hold on to the back of a chair and go through my ballet positions…playing make believe that I’m a prima ballerina.

When I was young, one of my dreams was becoming an author & illustrator of children's books. I have to say, although that dream didn't fully come true (at least not yet), I recently had the privilege of illustrating my stepdad's book called The Dewey Deception (www.deweydeception.com).

Another dream of mine is to design and own my own bar/restaurant (ie: like a restaurant called Before & After, and only sell Apps & Desserts). This is quite a costly ambition though! Maybe one day :)

My best friend and I (still BFFs today!) used to pretend that we owned our own business. One day it was a trucking company that moved goods across the country and the next we owned our own fashion design company.

I don't own my own company...yet. A girl has to dream!

I wanted to be some regular things, like a doctor and a fireman, but also some less realistic things, like growing up to be a boy =P Right now, I want to grow up to be a person who can afford more gorgeous artwork like this one!

I wanted to be a coroner! For years and years. Then, I decided I would settle for orthopedic surgery, then I thought pediatric oncologist. Now, I don't know, but I miss that girl who was so sure she knew what she wanted.

When I was little I dreamt about becoming two things: a vet by day (as I was completely obsessed with animals) and by night, a Superhero! I grew up with three older brothers and some of their interests seemed to rub off on me. I don't really know what I want to pursue at this point in my life, but the Superhero option is mighty tempting! ;)

Until I was in the 5th grade, I wanted to be a marine biologist, then I wanted to be a photographer and, in the end, I became neither! I worked as a Project Manager for several years and now I'm a stay-at-home mom, which is something I could never have predicted! =)

Oh gosh, I have loved Sabrina Ward Harrison for YEARS. This print is gorgeous.

When I was young, I wanted to be a spy like Harriet the Spy, and I recorded everything in a notebook. That turned into wanting to be a journalist, then a teacher, then an art teacher, then an interior designer.

I'm 26 now, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up :)

What a lovely print.

I wanted to be an artist my whole life..the colors, the freedom, it all felt amazing when I created my pieces. I now am a graphic designer so I did keep that inspiration with me.

I think I also wanted to be a vet at one point but honestly..I cannot handle blood, cut or any of that. eekk

Aww! That is so pretty! (and a good matching question!).

Much to my mother's dismay, I wanted to be a nurse, NOT A DOCTOR. Because Nurses were girls and doctors were boys. Yeah, I grew out of that quickly.

On a side note, my sister wanted to be a mouse doctor or queen of sheeba. Whichever dream came true first! :)

When I was a wee one, all I wanted to do was read books and talk about good stories. It took me a long time to figure out how to parlay this into a career but, despite my Dad's assertions that "a degree in English isn't worth the paper it's printed one," I'm working towards a PhD in English Lit so that I can talk all day, every day about the best books in the world.

Thanks for the giveaway! My email is imisslincoln@yahoo.com!

Oh joy! I'm so in love with Sabrina Ward Harrison's work! She is an incredibly inspiring human being.

I always wanted to be a writer, I had dreams of being published while in elementary. Not long after that I added artist to my hopes and dreams. SWH's first book had a little something to do with that.

I am LOVING this print :)

When I was growing up, I was like everyone else and went through many phases of what I wanted to be. My very first one was to be a vet, and then it was firefighter. Now that I'm in university, I'm training to be a social worker :)

When I was little, I wanted to be a veterinarian. Our house was filled with pets, and I loved to take care of them. My brothers would help me do pretend surgeries on my stuffed animals to "make them better."

Oh gosh what did I want to be when I was a little girl...My best friend and I both decided when we were quiet young that we both didn't want to be anything and we wanted to live at home FOREVER! (haha that sure changed quickly!) However in our province (Alberta) we have an amazing radio station, CKUA, that has a GIANT music library with all the music you could ever imagine, when I was about 12 I became determined that I would someday be the music librarian there and just sort out CD's all day! That plan never happened...yet! And i'm still deciding what I want to be when I grow up, I'm pretty sure it changes daily!!
