National Sarcasm Society.

It's like this was custom made just for me. I'd love to have it as a print. No, seriously.

FIGGGJO Mirror.

I never fancied myself a table mirror sort of girl. (Actually I've never "fancied" myself anything before this post.) But then I met the FIGGJO mirror at IKEA and thought it just might be so. Measuring in at 9 7/8 X 18 1/8" this would fit perfectly atop my bedroom dresser.

Waitress.

I am rarely still on the weekend, so it was a surprise that I was able to sit through not one, but four movies between Saturday and Sunday. My eyes feasted upon the likes of Atonement, I Am Legend and Superbad.

As well as my favorite, Waitress. I'm probably going to need to own this one at some point. I loved it. It's even better if you watch it while eating homemade blueberry pancakes. Or so I hear...

Lauren Wolf Jewelry.

Lauren Wolf's goal in designing her jewelry is to bring together nature in form and industry; to create jewelry of contrast that both complements and commands attention. Her jewelry is bold, yet blends edge and elegance. Wolf's studies in Mexico really shine through in her lovely jewelry creations.

The Daily Eat: French Onion Soup.

Remember yesterday (and the day before) how I was gushing about spring finally being here to stay? Yeah, well it lied to me. Today is overcast with a high in the 50s. The kicker is that this weather is supposed to stick around all weekend before raining Sunday. So for this, French Onion Soup is in order. Nothing like some comfort food to beat the blues!

this water.

this water is simple: a blend of pure fruit juices, crushed fruit and pure spring water. I love the fun, whimsical feeling of the label for something so honestly simple. Has anyone seen this beverage in stores outside of the UK?

Patrick Jouin brings us an updated folding chair with his fol.d chair for XO. The seat slides up instead of folding! I love this as an option for extra seating instead of the old metal variety.

Privacy Urinals.

That's right folks, Privacy Urinals. Two words I never thought I'd actually type together on my blog. But when looking at design you need to be unbiased, so there you have it! Thanks to designer Mark Rock the boys (no pun intended) can enjoy a little more coverage and great design at the same time.

Photographer Crush: Daniel Everett.

I'm loving the photography of Chicago-based Daniel Everett. He definitely has a knack for capturing desolate locations and making them feel alive with invisible energy. Well, that's my take on it anyway and I'm sticking with it! My favorite? His Disconnect series of Polaroids.

On the Rocks: Sangria.

Another thing in honor of spring finally deciding to stick around for good: Sangria! It just begs to be sipped outside on a warm evening.

Ingredients:
- 2 bottles + 2 cups of inexpensive red wine
(ex. Charles Shaw from Trader Joe's)
- 5 cans Pellegrino Limonata
- 2 1/2 cups Dark Rum
- 1 cup Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
- 1/2 cup Apple Schnapps
- 4 tsp sugar
- Ice
- Chopped fruit (apples, oranges, lemons - use what's in season)
- Cinnamon Sticks

Fill a large pitcher or punch bowl 2/3 full with ice. Add wine and Pellegrino Limonata. Add in liquors, fruit, sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon. Test taste. If not sweet enough add another tablespoon of sugar. If it tastes too much like liquor add more Pellegrino Limonata. If it is too sweet add more wine.

Fingerprint.

As a designer I'm forever looking for ways to get more hands-on with my work. To take it out of the computer and make it more about the process. In portfolio school I not only created a piece of "stained glass" with my headline embedded in the art, but I also dabbled in actual graffiti for another ad in the same campaign. It's just so much more satisfying to create something tangible with your own two hands that takes on additional value when you're actually paid to do it.

Fingerprint is about just that.

A new approach to design is gaining momentum as more and more designers seek to combine the power of the computer with the personal qualities of hand-made elements. Fingerprint offers insight into this fusion of the digital and the hand-wrought, with dozens of examples of some of the best work in the industry, including design that includes hand-lettering elements and design that incorporates collage.

Calendone Calendar.

I'm in love with yet another calendar. This time it's the Calendone wall calendar and not one that sits prettily upon your desk. And it's perpetual, which is a HUGE bonus!

Plantorb.

The Plantorb is fantastic! The hanging ceramic orb is 8" in diameter with a 28” long woven sisal cord. As much as I would love to plant something in this, I think I would love even more to hang one inside my front door to throw my keys and sunglasses into when I get home.

Banana Republic Handbags.

I feel like I've been hiding under a rock. A month or so ago I walked into my local Banana Republic and was confronted not only by their usual selection of cute clothing, but also by displays stacked with absolutely stunning handbags. When did they start carrying handbags, clutches and wallets?! I feel like someone should have told me because they're that great. And they must think they're "that great," too, because it's reflected in the price. But they're so, so pretty!

The Daily Eat: Spiced Up Grilled Cheese.

My morning toast and coffee isn't doing me any justice today - I'm about to start eating tea bags. (Which happens to be the only "food" in my office at the moment.) This Spiced Up Grilled Cheese sandwich practically has me foaming at the mouth. Oh wait, that's just drool...

Dear Deer.

I have a confession: I'm not a fan of the antler craze.

Or I should say I wasn't a fan. Because after seeing Dear Deer I may be a convert. I think it has something to do with being able to customize the piece with branches, flowers, etc and update whenever the mood strikes. Oh, and the fact that it's not real antlers or faux antlers is a plus, too. I like the imagination behind it all.

VÅJÖN Plant Stand.

Love the VÅJÖN plant stand in IKEA's spring collection. The three 18.5" planters are actually a removable part of the 32" tall piece. I probably need a few of these and since they're at IKEA I can actually afford them - yea!

The Daily Eat: Coconut Tres Leches.

Tres leches is one of my very favorite desserts - I still remember the very first time I had at the Cadillac Bar in Dallas. I could have eaten plate upon plate overflowing with that milk-soaked cakey goodness. This coconut version offers up a spin on the original by using coconut milk as one of the three different milks in the leche mixture. Yum.

The weather has been spot-on beautiful for the past few days, so of course it's supposed to rain both Saturday and Sunday since I won't be cooped up in an office. Go figure!

Have a fantastic weekend and lovely Easter Sunday filled with headless chocolate rabbits and stale marshmallow Peeps!
